Wrinkles are a normal part of aging and generally develop when you enter your 40s as skin loses its elasticity. However, if you have noticed premature aging symptoms like fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead or around your eyes, there could be several reasons.

Smoking can cause wrinkles as it constricts the blood vessels. Moreover, UV light from the sun produces free radicals that cause oxidative stress, reducing skin cell repair and collagen production—ultimately causing wrinkles.

Though research is ongoing about the effectiveness of lavender oil for human skin, people swear by it for skin-related issues. So, unless you are allergic to lavender, you must try it!

The easiest way to deal with wrinkles is to use diluted lavender essential oil as a daily moisturizer on your face. Several carrier oils blend perfectly with lavender oil, including sweet almonds, jojobacoconutand avocado.

If you have sensitive skin, mix 3 to 6 drops of lavender oil in an ounce of carrier oil. For normal skin, you can use 8 to 10 drops of lavender oil per ounce of your favorite carrier. Mix the oils thoroughly and apply them to your skin with your fingers or a cotton pad.

You can also apply a few drops of lavender oil to your face with your daily lotion or moisturizing cream.

Now that you have learned how lavender oil can reduce the appearance of unsightly wrinkles on your skin, always conduct a patch test before using it. Wait for at least 24 hours for an adverse reaction. If you do see one, discontinue use immediately and visit a doctor.
